Job Title:
Phlebotomist II Location:
34700 Valley Rd. Oconomowoc, WI 53066.
Training:
Day 1 will be at Milwaukee branch. Depending on where they live, they will train at an IOP. Then they will go to a worksite
Duration:
3+ months Schedule-2 shifts available, One position would be 5:30am-2pm Monday through Friday and every other weekend 4:30am to 9am with one day off during the week. The second position would be 6:30am-3pm Monday through Friday and every other weekend 4:30am to 9am with one day off during the week.
Vaccines required:
MMR, Hep B (Candidate can decline Hep B), TB, color vision is required.
Description:
Summary:
The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.
Position Responsibilities:
Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc. Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Properly explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex., urine or fecal) as required. Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Fully understand all of the physicians' orders. Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order. Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct. Package specimens for transport. Stores specimen samples according to the required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, and follows different procedures as outlined by specific protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain the integrity of the specimen. Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Attend annual department trainings. Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states. Candidate will need to have 2 to 4 years experience in drawing. Pedi to Gei age range groups Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. High School Diploma or GED More Details; They have to have a minimum of two years of Phlebotomy experience, more experience preferred, and definitely pediatric experience. Not infants, but they will see as young as 8 months old. We are looking to hire these temp workers after their 3 months on contract. We need candidates that are strong Phlebotomy, they will see a wide variety of candidates. Pediatrics all the way up to geriatrics. They will also see recovering addicts so these can be difficult veins to draw on. It would be extremely beneficial to see candidates who have prior experience with hospitals or behavioral health in Phlebotomy. They are primarily drawing blood, processing, packing and shipping. Rogers Behavioral Health is like a campus (they are dealing with mental health patients as well); they will be drawing in the main hospital. They are mainly drawing intakes and discharges. They will get a packet in the morning, and it is their responsibility to do that wing or floor that they are assigned in the hospital.
