• Entry level therapist and is responsible for planning, implementing, and providing physical therapy evaluations and treatments as assigned by the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

They plan, evaluate, and implement physical therapy programs for patients. They demonstrate sufficient judgement related to documentation and patient and patient related treatment issues. This position reports to the Rehab Services Supervisor 2 for Acute Care Physical Therapy.

California Licensed Physical Therapist American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR Minimum education satisfied through attainment of the required licensure/certification Entry Level, New Graduate Basic knowledge in physical therapy as identified by the Physical Therapy Practice Act and licensure by the State of California Must be able to perform all responsibilities of a licensed physical therapist as required and assigned by the supervisory staff of Physical Therapy Must see well enough to observe patient reactions and read relevant monitors, relevant device settings, and relevant written information such as the patient's medical record Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with hospital staff in a clear, concise, professional manner Ability to exercise good judgment Organizational and developmental skills Skills and ability to work in stressful situations Tact and diplomacy skills Ability to provide and accept guidance Must hear and speak well enough to communicate with patients and staff throughout the day Must possess the physical strength to assist with patient mobility Must possess sufficient mobility to traverse the distances required to serve patients throughout the institution Must have basic computer skills Preferred Qualifications Experience working in an acute care physical therapy setting Experienced in documentation via Electronic Medical Record Key Responsibilities 90%

• Provides physical therapy services as assigned through the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation to Acute Care, ICU's and/or Inpatient/Outpatient Rehabilitation areas 5%

• Miscellaneous assignments as required Department Overview The primary purpose of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is to provide a full range of rehabilitation services designed to restore patients to their optimal functional capacity.
