Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Take the next step in your physical therapy career by providing essential school-based services as part of a dynamic, student-focused team. In this contract role, you'll serve a diverse population in an itinerant capacity, traveling between locations to deliver high-impact PT services and ensuring every student's unique needs are met. Full-time and extended school year (ESY) availability are required, opening opportunities to make a lasting difference throughout the year. Your flexibility and dedication will be instrumental in supporting both students and staff.
Key Qualifications:
Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in California Experience in California schools strongly preferred Ability to supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTA) on-site Skilled at adapting to multiple environments and traveling between school sites Spanish-English bilingual candidates are highly desirable Commitment to evidence-based, student-centered care
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct PT services to students across various sites as assigned Assess students' motor abilities and develop individualized treatment plans in coordination with multidisciplinary teams Supervise and mentor PTAs, ensuring high-quality implementation of student programs Collaborate with teachers, families, and other support professionals to maximize student participation and independence Maintain timely, accurate documentation in compliance with school and legal requirements Participate actively in IEP meetings, providing expertise and recommendations tailored to each learner Adapt and modify equipment, lessons, and environments to meet specific physical needs In this role, you'll have access to a supportive professional community, opportunities for ongoing learning, and the satisfaction of shaping students' day-to-day progress.
