Job Description
Physical Therapy Assistant - Acute Care Come work in Beautiful Salida, Colorado. Experienced team of talented therapists working to care for the community in a vibrant, supportive environment. 45 minute treatment sessions, an hour paid documentation time and 8-10 patients a day with continuing education and ample time off earned. As a PRN employee, you will be involved with weekend rotation (~one weekend/month) and vacation coverage (with plenty of notice). Our acute care rehab team values creating a work environment that is enjoyable to be a part of, while incorporating evidence-based practice and helping our community. We hope you will give us a try! All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a negative drug screen test•, criminal background check, reference checks, infection prevention procedures TB test, Flu Shot, immunization records, and acknowledgement of policies.
Physical Therapist Assistant Scope of Practice:
a. Examines patients with impairments, functional limitations, and disability or other health-related conditions in order to best administer the plan of care provided by the physical therapist. b. Alleviates impairments and functional limitations by implementing the plan of care outlined by the Physical Therapist and modifying therapeutic interventions within the scope of the treatment plan. c. Prevents injury, impairments, functional limitations, and disability, including the promotion and maintenance of fitness, health, and quality of life in all age populations. d. Engages in consultation, education, and research. e. Maintains a record on each patient including physician orders, diagnosis, treatment, progress, record of attendance and summary, in a timely manner. Submit and verify patient charges for services rendered. f. Provides appropriate supervision of aides as specified by scope of practice. g. Participate in discharge planning process.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES 1.
Must be able to solicit and evaluate subjective feedback from patients to be able to assess effectiveness of a procedure. 2. Must be aware of relative value and limitations of each piece of equipment. 3. Must be able to apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology and physical science to specialized techniques in treatment of the patient. 4.
