Job Description

Overview 7:30AM TO 4:00PM Tuesday though Saturday The Physical Therapist examines and evaluates patients, developing effective treatment plans appropriate for the patient condition. The Physical Therapist measures patient progress, modifies treatment plans and educates the patient to produce optimal outcomes. Responsibilities Accurately and efficiently performs physical therapy examinations and evaluations in simple and complex clinical presentations. Correctly establishes prognosis and therapy diagnoses. Establishes effective plans of care that accurately predict goal achievement, frequency and duration of care required, in simple and complex clinical presentations. (30%) Effectively chooses and modifies treatment interventions, including patient education to guide patient management toward successful outcomes. Utilizes the evidence for patient management strategies. (30%) Effectively and efficiently generates documentation and charges to justify services. Follows departmental documentation guidelines and complies with insurance requirements. (15%) Contributes to self, staff, departmental and organizational growth through engagement in development activities (PI, inservices, mentorship, program development, community service, committees, etc.) (5%) Serves as Clinical Instructor for Physical Therapy students. Provides excellent student teaching and mentoring experiences. Works effectively with the Clinical Education Coordinator to proactively problem solve. (5%) Engaged and supports the success of organizational and department goals. Demonstrates achievement in and commitment to individual goals, thereby effectively contributing to organization/department success. (5%) Effectively supervises PT Assistants and Rehab Techs, as it relates to patient care. (5%) Meets productivity expectations for area served. (5%) Additional Responsibilites Represents department at meetings, as requested Assists with inventory /supply control and conservation Follows infection control and safety guidelines Participates in departmental Performance Improvement activities Performs all other duties as assigned by management within job specification Age of Patients Served All Age Groups. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree.
Specific course work:
Physical Therapy preferred Preferred education: Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy Required Licensure/Certifications Current Florida Physical Therapy license. BLS from the American Heart Association Experience Less than one year clinical experience in area of job opening (e.g. Acute, outpatient, etc.) Preferred experience: Experience in hospital-based rehabilitation services. Necessary skills Knowledge of Physical Therapy theory, procedures, practices and equipment. Good communication skills. Proactive, positive approach to problem solving. Thorough knowledge of possible hazards/necessary precautions/remedial measures in the treatment and care of patients. Ability to assess and implement a treatment programs for simple and complex therapy diagnoses. Computer skills in Microsoft Office suite.
Qualifications:
Education Bachelor's Degree.
