Job Summary:
Functions as a part of a large and varied healthcare team consisting of physicians, nurses, allied health personnel, and members of the community. Responsibilities include providing direct patient care to a variety of diagnostic categories and supervising rehabilitation technicians, volunteers, and students. Caseloads may consist of adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients. The person in this position will function as a generalist while developing a specialization in a clinical area of interest.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Patient Treatment:
Implements treatment plan utilizing current theory and practice; works towards established goals; modifies goals and treatment plan as necessary and indicated. Documents treatment plan according to department policy and bills for services. Coordinates appropriate follow up post discharge from care.
Patient Assessment:
Performs functions related to patient evaluation/re-evaluation, goal setting, and discharge planning according to department policy and procedures. Documents findings according to department policy and bills for services. Ensures findings are shared with appropriate individuals and provides necessary follow up.
Education:
Provides a positive learning environment for observers, volunteers, students, and co-workers. Willingly accepts learners and ensures learning objectives are achieved. Provides learning opportunities for department staff on topics related to clinical specialty.
Productivity:
Meets departmental productivity standards. Takes initiative to insure that established productivity standard is met on an ongoing and regular basis. Takes an active role in servicing patients with immediate needs. Documents productivity in a timely manner. Other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Education:
Bachelors Physical Therapy Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor Additional License(s) and Certification(s):
Georgia State Licensure Upon Hire Required Required Minimum Experience:
