Outpatient Orthopedic Senior Physical Therapist | Medical Center University Rehab Therapies The University of Iowa - 4.1 Iowa City, IA Job Details Full-time 4 days ago Benefits Disability insurance Dental insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Employee relationship building Clinical staff development programs Clinical staff training Clinical training Physical Therapy License Orthopedics Teaching Full Job Description The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at the University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Senior Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat patients with complex physical dysfunctions, disorders, and/or injuries. This position will primarily work with patients experiencing orthopedic conditions in an outpatient setting at the Medical Center University Campus in Iowa City. Additionally, this position covers our hemophilia multidisciplinary and outreach clinics.
Duties to include:
Provide exceptional patient care, evaluation, assessment, and treatment appropriate for patients with complex or specialized needs. Participate in the development of innovative clinical teaching activities to meet the learning needs of staff and students. Exhibit divisional and/or departmental leadership by: o Serving as a clinical resource and maintain a high level of clinical productivity. o Participate in clinical research and collaborate on special projects. o Assist with setting and accomplishing divisional/departmental goals and assists management, as necessary. o Develop, implement, and expand learning opportunities and skills development for staff & students. o Assist in establishing innovative programs, as well as maintaining and developing current programs. o Assist in the administration of the departmental Quality Assurance program. o Participate in the development of service operations, policies, and procedures. Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public. Additional tasks/responsibilities as needed/assigned.

This position is performed fully at the Medical Center University Campus. This position is full-time, 100%.
Work schedule:

Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Physical Therapy is required. Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required. 2+ years of experience in Physical Therapy is necessary, with a high degree of understanding of patients with orthopedic dysfunctions. Demonstrated skills in clinical education abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Desirable Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as a Physical Therapist. 3+ years of experience evaluating and treating patients with orthopedic dysfunctions. Experience with patients with hemophilia and other bleeding disorders. Demonstrates leadership abilities. Demonstrates experience as part of a multidisciplinary medical team.
