Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Make a significant impact each day by supporting students with diverse needs as a Physical Therapist within a vibrant school environment. This full-time, onsite contract position runs from August 19, 2026, through June 1, 2027, and offers the fulfilling opportunity to work with children and young adults ages 3 to 21. Each week brings 35 hours of hands-on interaction and the chance to be a vital resource for both students and educators. This role is strictly in-person and will situate you as a key member of a dedicated educational team, ensuring that all students receive goal-oriented, evidence-based services tailored to their abilities.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Illinois Physical Therapy license (required) Prior experience in a school setting is highly valued Demonstrated success working with students who have disabilities Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices in pediatric physical therapy Comfort working with a wide age range (preschool through young adult) Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Responsibilities:
Provide direct, onsite physical therapy services to students, supporting their access to the school curriculum and activities Assess student needs, develop personalized therapy plans, and document progress Consult and collaborate with educators, parents, and other school-based professionals Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and contribute your expertise to IEP development Utilize innovative, cost-effective approaches to maximize student engagement and outcomes Adapt interventions to support students with varying degrees of physical abilities and learning styles
