  • Evaluates and treats patients with neurological, medical, or musculoskeletal disorders to improve mobility, independence, and activities of daily living.
Plans and implements individualized treatment programs, documents care, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and supervises/supports rehab staff and students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Evaluate, plan, and implement treatment programs per accepted PT principles and practices.
  • Design and adjust plans of care including goals, interventions, outcomes, and discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with providers, nurses, therapy colleagues, and vendors.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and home programs.
  • Complete timely, regulatory-compliant documentation and accurate charge capture.
  • Manage scheduling and patient flow to minimize backups.
  • Provide clinical instruction to students and in-service training to teammates.
  • Supervise and direct PT Assistants, Rehab Technicians, and support staff as assigned.
  • Participate in continuing education, staff meetings, committees, and performance improvement activities.
  • Demonstrate professional demeanor, high customer service standards, and compassionate patient care.
  • Apply standard precautions and use PPE as required.

FUNCTIONAL DEMANDS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Exerts 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
  • Frequently reaches, handles, and may stoop, crouch, or feel as required by patient care.
BEHAVIORAL ATTRIBUTES

QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM EDUCATION
  • Graduate of an accredited curriculum with a degree in Physical Therapy.
REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Current Massachusetts Physical Therapist state license.
  • BLS certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
PREFERRED/REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Prior experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of contemporary, evidence-based PT practices for acute care, orthopedics, and neurologic patients.
  • Ability to motivate, educate, and encourage patients.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficient with computers and able to learn new software rapidly.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
