Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference this summer by helping students achieve their goals in a rewarding extended school year program near Columbia, MD. As a contract Physical Therapist, you'll support children and adolescents in a dynamic learning environment, delivering critical PT services designed to promote independence, mobility, and confidence throughout the summer months. Bring your passion for pediatric care and your expertise in the school-based setting, collaborating closely with educators, families, and fellow specialists to facilitate the best possible outcomes for each student.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
Valid Physical Therapy license in Maryland (or eligibility) Experience delivering PT services in schools or pediatric settings Understanding of IEPs and the ability to document progress toward therapeutic goals Strong communication skills for working effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Ability to adapt interventions to varying abilities and ages Commitment to supporting students across a diverse range of needs
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct PT interventions as outlined in students' IEPs for the duration of the extended school year Assess, document, and report on student progress; adjust strategies and goals as needed Collaborate with teachers, occupational/ speech therapists, and support staff Participate in team meetings and offer recommendations for strategies or adaptive equipment Encourage participation in activities that support motor development and independence This summer contract is a chance to step into a positive, collaborative setting that values your skills and gives you the opportunity to deeply impact students' growth during the pivotal extended school year.
