Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Make an impact this summer by delivering essential therapy services to students as a Physical Therapist in a dynamic school environment near Laurel, MD. Two rewarding contract opportunities are available—Extended School Year (ESY) and Infants & Toddlers Services—providing you with the chance to support children's growth and development during a pivotal time.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
Active Maryland Professional Licensure as a Physical Therapist (required) Experience working with school-aged children, infants, or toddlers in an educational or pediatric setting Proficiency providing both assessment and direct therapy services Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills Compliance with House Bill 486 (background check/fingerprinting and employment history review) Must be able to present images of professional licensure upon request
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver one-on-one or small group physical therapy services within assigned school settings, in person Complete assessments for eligible students as assigned Document and track progress, develop and follow individualized treatment plans Collaborate with teachers, families, and other service providers Attend professional development on June 25th at the assigned school(s) Maintain consistent scheduling:
ESY:
June 29th-July 30th, Mon-Thurs, 6 hours/day (24 hours/week)
Infants & Toddlers:
June 22nd-July 30th, Mon-Thurs, 7 hours/day (28 hours/week) Take advantage of a structured summer schedule—Monday through Thursday, no Fridays—with clear times for each assignment and a focus on meaningful, direct service. On-site attendance is required, offering a hands-on, engaging experience.
