School Physical Therapist | Nottingham, Maryland Sunbelt Staffing - 3.8 Nottingham, MD Job Details Contract $35 - $60 an hour 2 days ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Qualifications Physical Therapy License Visually impaired education Physical therapy Full Job Description Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a difference in the lives of students by providing expertise as a Physical Therapist for the current school year. This contract opportunity is for a position serving pre-K through 12th grade students with a range of needs, including mild to severe disabilities, autism, cognitive disabilities, and medically fragile conditions. The assignment is based near Nottingham, MD and offers a chance to work with a diverse student population in a supportive, educational setting.
Required Qualifications:
Active Maryland PT license Experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations preferred Knowledge of individualized education program (IEP) processes and special education regulations Understanding of physical therapy interventions for students with various needs, including those who are blind or visually impaired Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to adapt to diverse learning environments and modify therapy techniques accordingly
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver physical therapy services to students across pre-K to 12th grade, targeting individualized goals within the educational environment Assess, plan, and implement interventions for students with autism, cognitive and physical disabilities, and those who are medically fragile Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to optimize student participation and independence Participate in IEP meetings; document progress, develop goals, and provide recommendations for adaptations or assistive equipment Contribute to building-wide accessibility and inclusion strategies Enjoy the stability of 35+ hour work weeks and notable perks for onsite employees.
