Certified Hand Therapist PRN About the JobMedStar Health is looking for a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to join our team at Therapy - Pasadena!

We are looking foralicensed CHTwithprofessionalcompetency as a general practitioner in occupational or physicaltherapy,demonstratedindependent use of varied evaluation and treatment approaches,initiative in following through with all procedures and policies, and effective communication skills.

As an Occupational / Physical Therapist withtheCertified Hand Therapistcredential,you willprovidetherapeutic interventions to prevent dysfunction restore function and/or reverse the progression of pathology of the upper limb (hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder) to enhance an individual's ability to perform tasks andparticipatefully in daily life situations. Using specialized skills in assessment,planningand treatments, CHT'sassistwith improving upper limb function, alleviating pain, and preventing disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed therapy as outlined by treatment plan andin accordance withpractice guidelines. A comprehensive knowledge of the structure of the upper limb isrequired. Asrequested, CHT's mayparticipatein program planning and protocol development, andassistthe team in meeting established goals.

Primary Duties:
Providesevaluation services including review of pertinenthistoricalinformation, performance of specific assessments, and determination of recommendations and documentation of results. Explains evaluation findings and treatmentplantopatientand family and incorporatespatientand family in the goals setting.

Demonstratesproficiencyin implementation of treatment protocols based uponevaluationfindings and the patient's presentation and the evolving health care environment.

Consultswith other healthcare professionals asindicated. Recognizes and documents changes in patient's condition requiring modification of the plan of care and/or the need for medicalehabilitation consultation.

Completesappropriate dischargeplanning and follow-up care. Accurately andtimelydocuments and charges for patient care activitiesconsideringour evolving health care environment, painting a clear picture of the patient's course of care including focusedinitialevaluation/plan of care thatestablishesbaseline and goals, legible daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluation.

Demonstrates effective time management and meets productivity expectations. Managean accurateschedule. Demonstrates a professional commitment toprovidefrictionless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and actions/behaviors that display empathy in our patient consumer driven environment.

Takes initiative in pursuing and directing continuing education for professional growth and competency for self and organization. Serves as a clinical instructor to assigned students.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's,Master's,orDoctoral degree in Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy,orHigh School Diploma or GED of an accredited school of Occupational/Physical Therapy.3 years of experience as an occupational physical therapist with4,000 hours (about 5 and a half months)or more in direct practice in hand therapy.
