Physical Therapy Student Job Summary The Physical Therapist position directs the assessment, treatment planning and implementation of therapy services to patients of all ages, utilizing current knowledge, theory, evidence and sound clinical judgment. Works closely with the patient, family and other members of an interdisciplinary team to provide efficient and effective individualized patient care. Serves as educators and mentors for therapy students, peers and other medical professionals. Assists with department and program planning. We are looking for someone to join our growing pelvic health and orthopedic therapy team. Common areas that we treat in our pelvic health rehab are: pregnancy and postpartum issues; pelvic floor pain and dysfunction; bowel and bladder dysfunction; oncology; and post-surgical rehab. If you have pelvic health experience or have completed at least a level 1 pelvic health class, come join our passionate team of therapists. We also have a diverse orthopedic patient population, including non-operative and operative patients. Compensation We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The wage range for this position is $85,404.80-$120,569.80. This range reflects the base salary for this position. Key Accountabilities Evaluation/Plan of Care/Discharge Planning Conducts an appropriate evaluation of the patient and documents accurate information within the medical record. Develops and implements age appropriate functional goals and treatment plan based on referral, the patient's history, examination findings, and patient's input. Re-evaluates goals and treatment plan at appropriate intervals and modifies the therapy program based on the patient's response to treatment to ensure optimal outcome. Provides timely discharge planning including equipment needs assessment, identification of community resources where needed and completion of home program/discharge summary. Intervention Develops appropriate treatment interventions, considering indications and contraindications, based on patient's current level of functioning. Provides treatment at a level consistent with current therapy practice Delegates and provides appropriate supervision of established plan of care to support personnel. Completes accurate and timely documentation of the patient's progress and the treatment performed that meet professional standards. Maintains current and accurate records of properly signed prescriptions, patient evaluations, treatments, goals and plan of care. Ensures conformity to regulations and requirements of third party payers. Communication Treats patient and/or customer service as a top priority; is flexible and accommodating to meet patient and/or customer needs. Communicates/collaborates with interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, response to treatment, goals and program changes. Clearly presents verbal and written instructions to patients and their families in appropriate terminology. Presents pertinent therapy information in patient care conferences and team meetings Professional Development Reviews professional publications, industry standards and government initiatives Pursues continuing education opportunities Participates in relevant activities and organizations Shares knowledge with Rehabilitation staff through inservices, written documents or verbal communication. Provides direction and leadership to students, visitors, and staff when called upon. Casual/call positions have specific requirements regarding coverage expectations. Qualifications Licensed by the Minnesota State Board of Physical Therapy to practice in Minnesota Must be enrolled in
NH+C RQI
program for BLS certification and complete the requirements within 90 days of enrollment. Must remain current (complete quarterly assignments prior to the end of each calendar quarter). Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently to ensure safe and effective communication in a healthcare environment. Initial Crisis Prevention Certification (CPI) within six months. Workplace Violence education in New Employee Orientation and annually thereafter.
