Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity as a contract Physical Therapist working with students ages 3 to 18 in a supportive educational environment near Smithville, MO, with school sites also in Gower. The position focuses on serving a mixed caseload—primarily mild to moderate needs—with the unique benefit of only one student currently in the ECSE room. This school-based role covers three locations and is ideally suited for professionals who appreciate work-life balance, as the schedule is just one hour per week, for one day each week. Starting August 24, 2026, and continuing through June 10, 2027 (including ESY dates), this is an excellent way to maintain clinical skills while making a meaningful impact.
Key Qualifications:
Current certification as a Physical Therapist, OR eligibility to supervise a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Experience in school or pediatric settings is highly valued Strong communication skills tailored for school environments and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Ability to adapt to a variety of student needs across a mixed caseload
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver weekly physical therapy services as outlined in student IEPs Supervise PTA as needed, ensuring continuity and quality of care Provide documentation and progress updates in compliance with school and state standards Collaborate with educational staff and families to support each student's physical development
