Job Description

Join this rural hospital as a Physical Therapist and bring life-changing rehab care to Southern Montana 💪! This Physical Therapist will find mission-driven, patient-first practice with measurable outcomes, strong safety performance, and a supportive, learning-focused culture that accelerates growth.

The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, and administering physical therapy treatments as prescribed, supporting patients across a wide continuum of care within a Critical Access Hospital. This role provides exposure to Acute Care, Inpatient Rehab, Orthopedics, Critical Care, and Outpatient Rehab, managing a diverse caseload that includes post-op orthopedic recovery, neuro and stroke rehabilitation, cardiopulmonary conditioning, ICU early mobility, and complex medical cases.

Working under the Director of Rehabilitation Services, the PT collaborates closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary team including nursing, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and case management. Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment across all age groups, individualized plan-of-care development, therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, manual therapy, pain management, patient and family education, and ongoing reassessment. The PT also ensures accurate documentation, participates in quality improvement and safety initiatives, supports efficient department operations, and may assist with supervision and mentoring of support staff. They will also provide treatment through manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, modalities, gait and balance training, and pain management strategies, while also delivering patient and family education, maintaining timely documentation, and ensuring proper equipment use, infection prevention, and adherence to safety standards.

Southern Montana rewards a Physical Therapist with a great outdoor scene that allows them to alpine hiking and world-class fly fishing on the Yellowstone and Bighorn Rivers, bluebird ski days near Red Lodge, gateway access to Yellowstone National Park, and endless trails for biking and trail running under big-sky sunsets. A PT will appreciate shorter commutes, a favorable cost of living compared to major metros, safe neighborhoods with housing options from historic downtowns to wide-open acreage, and vibrant arts, music, and culinary scenes centered around regional hubs. Whether seeking family-friendly amenities, pet-friendly trails, star-filled night skies, or privacy with quick access to amenities, a PT will find Southern Montana a standout place to call home.

This Physical Therapist opportunity features competitive compensation and a full suite of health and retirement benefits, with potential incentives such as relocation assistance, certification pay, licensure reimbursement, generous PTO, and robust wellness resources.
