Surrounded by rolling hills and scenic rivers, Murphy offers a peaceful, small-town lifestyle with easy access to outdoor activities like hiking, boating, fishing, and exploring nearby Lake Hiwassee. The area is known for its natural beauty, relaxed pace, and friendly community atmosphere, making it an appealing choice for clinicians who enjoy a mix of work and recreation in a scenic setting. The assignment is a 13-week Temp Direct role in a skilled nursing facility environment, providing rehabilitative care to adult and geriatric patients. You will work a day shift schedule, typically 5 eight-hour shifts per week, with an expectation of approximately 40 hours. The position follows a weekly billing and pay cycle, and there is no on-call requirement, supporting a predictable and stable work-life balance. In this role, you will evaluate, plan, and implement evidence-based physical therapy interventions for residents with a variety of conditions, including post-acute, orthopedic, neurological, and chronic medical needs. Your responsibilities will include completing comprehensive evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, progressing functional mobility and strength, and providing caregiver and family education when appropriate. You will document all care in the facility's EMR system in a timely and accurate manner and adhere to regulatory and compliance standards for SNF practice. You will be a key member of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating closely with nursing, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and support safe discharges. A typical day may include new evaluations, daily treatment sessions, coordination with case management or social services, and participation in care conferences. Caseloads are focused on SNF residents, providing opportunities to build meaningful relationships and follow patients' progress over time. You can explore local shops and restaurants in the historic downtown area, enjoy nearby trails and parks, and take advantage of regional destinations such as mountain resorts and scenic drives.
