Overview:
Threat Management Group is searching for highly qualified candidates to support the Air National Guard (ANG) Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) Human Performance Optimization (HPO) Program. This program provides agility and capacity to improve performance and extend the longevity of the "human weapon system," thereby increasing the operational readiness of Air Support Operations Groups (ASOG) and the TACP community. The
ANG TACP HPO
Program seeks to maintain the highest state of readiness throughout its units. This is achieved by integrating physical therapy, athletic training, and strength and conditioning services, which are critical for maintaining peak performance.
Candidates Requirements:
Must have 5+ years of experience as a Physical Therapist in collegiate (or higher), professional, or tactical athletics; aerospace industry, test pilot/astronaut or similar man-machine high-performance environment. Must have Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) accredited program. Must have current certification in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), including Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Training. Must be able to obtain a favorable Tier 1 (T1) security/background investigation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a Physical Therapist responsible for all administrative and clinical management within the scope of practice for
PACAF HPO
as an independent embedded healthcare provider. The Contractor shall employ a variety of principles and methodologies to conduct examinations, evaluations, diagnoses, prognoses, interventions, and outcome assessments for assigned personnel. This includes, but is not limited to, providing operational care through individual assessments, injury prevention strategies, and human performance interventions targeting musculoskeletal conditions to support personnel readiness. The PT will also serve as the subject matter expert in all aspects of musculoskeletal injury management, injury prevention, and performance enhancement, in support of personnel readiness. Complete all in-processing requirements and participate in job-specific training activities, which may include simulations and other hands-on training opportunities. Engage in specific operator training when approved by the COR. Complete an in-processing evaluation/assessment for all newly assigned personnel. Independently manage complex neuromuscular and musculoskeletal disorders by providing neuromuscular control, corrective exercises, postural functional exercises, and self-corrective movements. Conduct required clinical and non-clinical administrative responsibilities and maintains patient care records
IAW DHA PM
6025.02, Volume 1. Advise unit commanders on matters related to injury prevention and rehabilitation. Identify opportunities for improvement to include developing protocols and standard operating procedures (SOP) for PT programs. Advise unit commanders of administrative matters, purchasing of required supplies and equipment, and supplemental fiscal requests related to interventions and professional services provided. Provide all forms of primary injury (acute and/or duty- limiting) prevention services, to include but not limited to physical capacity as well as new member assessments, personnel health education, and nutrition advising. Ensure safe and effective operation of equipment is used for patient care and contributes to a safe working environment. Attend staff meetings with the unit commander as needed to review and evaluate physical training programs, identifying opportunities for improvement Provide Individual Training Plans after initial assessment, and include, feedback sessions, unique training plans, and any modifications to the plan to ensure a safe and expeditious return to training of individuals recovering from injury. Monitor access to care and employs electronic systems, software programs, and databases for patient care documentation and administrative responsibilities. Some travel may be expected. Typical working hours are 0700 to 1500 Monday through Friday, which may include occasional weekends, and holidays, to support the mission. This position is contingent upon contract award.
