We offer a broad range of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Sensory Integration, Speech Language Pathologist Therapy, Sports and Orthopedic Rehabilitation, Neurological Rehabilitation, Pediatric Rehabilitation, Fitness Programs, Orthotic Fabrication, Work Hardening/Work Assessment programs and Injury Prevention Services.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR A FULL-TIME PEDIATRIC PHYSICAL THERAPIST TO JOIN OUR TEAM!
!! This full-time position consists of a work schedule from Monday - Friday at one of our pediatric skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility serving medically fragile infants, children and young adults on a single dedicated campus specializing in providing long-term, 24-hour medical care in a nurturing and home-like setting. We currently have a great team of PT's, OT's, SLP's and rehab aides at this facility.
Core Responsibilities:
Assumes responsibility for the screening, evaluation, and treatment of infant, pediatric, adolescent and young adult clients in need of physical therapy services. Thoroughly reviews medical/background information and conducts screenings prior to evaluations to determine patient need for services and ability to benefit from skilled services. Attends and participates in inter-disciplinary team meetings involving families as appropriate. Formulates comprehensive and individualized treatment programs by evaluating clients with congenital, developmental, or acquired conditions, using evidence-based interventions tailored to each child's age and abilities. Identifies and refers patients for related services (orthopedic surgery, physiatry, developmental pediatrics; as appropriate). Assess patient's rehab needs through the continuum of care and provides appropriate equipment, bracing, education and treatment recommendations. Completes all documentation in accordance with professional, organizational, regulatory and facility's compliance standards. Participates in initiatives that may include providing education and quality measures within the multidisciplinary team (both formally and informally), brainstorming with rehab and nursing team, presenting at skills fair or other activities to assist in improving quality or care, productivity, policies and standards. Demonstrates his/her commitment to professional growth and competency by independently seeking out continuing education and other appropriate learning experiences. Reviews and follows the policies and procedures outlined by the facility. Promotes effective interpersonal and interdisciplinary relationships with occupational, speech, and respiratory therapies, nursing and resident life departments and other medical professionals/staff. Modify therapy goals/activities based on residents' current health status, physical limitations, and cognitive levels while upholding their rights and dignity. Provide education and training to parents and caregivers regarding their child's skill level, current plan of care for discharges, leave of absences, and significant changes. Provide equipment assessments/recommendations and justification to obtain necessary equipment to promote independence, safety, and success in the community upon discharge.

Pediatric PTs address a wide range of conditions, including some of the following: Neurological disorders : cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, Spinal cord injury, spina bifida Musculoskeletal issues : fractures, scoliosis, sports injuries, postural problems, various contractures, limb deficiencies Cardiopulmonary conditions : cystic fibrosis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, post-cardiac surgery recovery Developmental delays : hypotonia, coordination impairments Genetic disorders : Pompe syndrome, Trisomy 21 or Downs syndrome, Trisomy 13, other chromosomal abnormalities-Hunter syndrome Other medical conditions : mild to extreme prematurity, vent dependence, juvenile arthritis, muscular dystrophy, cancer, and post-surgical rehabilitation We offer an excellent starting salary, based on experience. Requirements:
