Physical Therapist Location:
Taconic Rehabilitation and Nursing at
Beacon SHIFT:
Full Time |Part Time | Per Diem Pay $45.00/hour to $52.24/hour (depending on experience)
Sign-on Bonus:
Up to $3,000 for Full Time | Up to $1500 for Part Time
JOB DESCRIPTION
Physical Therapist Floats work with patients to improve their movement and manage their pain. PTs use a variety of techniques to help their patients, including hands-on therapy, strengthening and stretching exercises, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, ice/heat, and much more.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducting physical and psychological assessments of clients to understand their physical condition and developing or following a treatment plan. Participate in family care plan meetings and educate caregivers and family members of clients on patient care Creating personalized fitness-oriented health care programs for patients. Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve mobility. Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals regarding patient. Documenting patient care history. Demonstrate ability to work with geriatric residents Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
New York State Physical Therapist licensure Degree in Physical Therapy from a program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Associtation (APTA) required CPR certification Physical strength to lift between 50-100lbs Must have knowledge, skills, and techniques of age specific developmental factors and be able to evaluate patients Must have up-to-date knowledge for treatment practices and physical therapy programs Experience in long term care preferred Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable Strong customer service skills and compassion Able to collaborate with a wide range of health care disciplines, as well as offer insight to patient and family members Strong written and verbal communication skills Respect for residents' privacy and rights; display of genuine concern and empathy for the elderly Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness, and kindness
