A contract opportunity is available for a physical therapist to provide essential services in a school-based Extended School Year (ESY) program from July 6 to August 14. You'll work with a close-knit group of five students, all of whom are non-verbal, focusing on their growth and mobility needs. Each student has a mandate for one 30-minute physical therapy session per week.

Qualifications and Experience:

Valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist Previous experience in a school setting preferred, especially with students who are non-verbal or have diverse communication needs Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with educational staff and families Knowledge of adaptive communication supports and assistive technology is a plus Compassion, patience, and creativity when working with children with special needs

Responsibilities:

Deliver individualized PT interventions during 30-minute weekly sessions per student Assess mobility, strength, and physical development to tailor therapy plans Collaborate with teachers, aids, and related service providers to support student goals Document session notes and progress in compliance with school and regulatory guidelines Communicate regularly with families and school staff regarding student progress This contract role is ideal for therapists seeking meaningful summer work with a small, dedicated caseload.
