SCHEDULE
Day shift, shifts can vary from 8-10 hours in length; 7 am-3:30 pmfor an 8-hour shift and/or 7 am-5:30 pm for a 10-hr. shift

RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Evaluation. Assess patient impairment and current condition to evaluate rehabilitation potential; report on patient progress, communicate effectively with physician and other team members; counsel patient and family according to degree of disability or impairment Treatment & Planning. Develop physical therapy treatment project for each patient, including training in functional mobility, use of assistive devices, therapeutic exercise, balance and coordination retraining, massage, heat, and cryotherapy; apply diagnostic and progressive functionality tests Leadership. Train, mentor, and coach team members to ensure standards of the department are met; address scheduling needs to ensure proper coverage is provided
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Doctorate or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy, or Bachelor's degree with prior experience as a licensed Physical Therapist required.
Required Licensure/Certification Skills:
Current New York State license or a limited permit as a Registered Physical Therapist If a New York State license or limited permit is not held, must be hired within 90 days of graduation from a New York State or APTA- accredited physical therapist education program and meet Practice Exemption under New York State Physical Therapy License Requirements. If working in Homecare or traveling between locations, a NYS license is required. Must possess personal characteristics that reflect assertiveness, self-motivation, and a personal commitment to health and fitness.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior Physical Therapist experience preferred

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.
