School-Based Physical Therapist - Spencerport, New York

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract This opportunity is for an Onsite Physical Therapist position supporting Extended School Year (ESY) services within a district serving students from kindergarten through age 22. The role is based in Rochester, NY, for a summer contract from July 1 to August 14, 2026. The Physical Therapist will provide specialized therapy services aimed at improving students' physical mobility, functional abilities, and participation in educational activities. Working 35 hours per week with a Monday-to-Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch), the therapist will collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support individualized education plans (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct physical therapy evaluations and develop treatment plans tailored to student needs Provide direct therapy services focusing on motor skills, strength, and mobility enhancements Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly Communicate regularly with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school and state policies

Qualifications:

Valid New York State Physical Therapy license (mandatory for consideration) Experience working with pediatric populations in school settings preferred Familiarity with physical therapy interventions geared toward educational environments Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team
