PRO 911 II. SUMMARY
: An employee in this classification, under the supervision of an Early Intervention (EI) Coordinator, is responsible for evaluating and assessing motor delays and disabilities and providing interventions and recommendations for children in early intervention.
III. DUTIES
75% Provides motor evaluations and assessments for eligible children. Participates in trans-disciplinary team approach to programming. Assists in developing functional motor objectives for the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). Implements state approved tools for evaluations and assessments. Serves as a consultant to staff, families and providers on motor techniques and needs. Attends Core team meetings and makes recommendations for individualized EI needs. Completes required reports for those served. Refers individuals to community resources for motor and physical services. Coordinates and monitors adaptive equipment/items and supplies as needed. Complies with all applicable rules, regulations, laws and Board policies and procedures. 20% May assist in facilitating in-service programs. May adjust, adapt, build and clean equipment and assists in the oversight of the loan closet. Attends meetings, conferences and staffings. May be required to orient individuals assigned to the department. 5% Performs other related duties as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Position may involve exposure to individuals with medical and behavioral risks. Position will require evenings and locations convenient for individuals and families in their natural e.
IV. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Ability to promote an inclusive environment for all board staff, individuals served, families, and providers. Knowledge and ability to operate personal computer, applications software, and basic office equipment. Knowledge of physical therapy techniques, principles, and practices. Ability to work independently. Effective organizational and responsive communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships. Knowledge of laws and rules governing the practice of physical therapy. Knowledge of physical therapy equipment and safety practices. Knowledge and ability to use tools for adaptive equipment modifications.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers Board. One (1) year of experience working with infants and toddlers in a professional setting is preferred.
CERTIFICATION, REGISTRATION AND LICENSURE
Current Licensure by the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers Board. Valid Driver's license.
TRAINING
Training as required by the Board and DODD. Adult and Pediatric First Aid and
CPR/AED OTHER
