Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The PTA shall be responsible for providing, under the direction of a Physical Therapist and/or Physical Therapist Manager, therapeutic interventions in a team environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards. The PTA shall also demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible team fashion.RESPONSIBLE TO

Role as communicator and motivator in Inter/Intradepartmental with medical/nursing support staff patients/families/visitors/physicians and Administrative leadership.MAJOR ACTIVITIES
Participate in continuing education/professional development activities. Communicate and demonstrate a professional image/attitude for patients, families, clients, coworkers and others. Adhere to policies and practices of applicable professional organizations of Atoka County Medical Center. Contribute to client relations and market activities. Maintain licenses/certifications and memberships in applicable professional organizations. Provide age appropriate therapeutic interventions as directed by the physical therapist. Monitor patient response to treatment. Document the course of patient care including progress made and continuing need for treatment. Provide patient and family education on tasks and resources that will assist with continued functional independence. Collaborate with the physical therapist to develop new methods of delivering education to patients and family. Participate in department and/or continuing education meetings. Assist the physical therapist in providing team members with inservice/cross-training on physical therapy knowledge and skill area as needed. Contribute to development of improved efficiency and productivity of program clinical/administrative functions. Participate in program quality management activities. Collect quality review data. Participate in survey preparation activities. Interact with assigned program consultant if applicable. Participate in program safety activities. Contribute to the delivery of cost-effective care. All other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or Director.Service Pillar:

Supports and promotes the organization's service excellence program, Infection Control Program and Safety Program. Supports and promotes the organization's Quality and Risk Management programs. Submits incident reports according to organizational policy/procedure.Clinical Staff only:
Provides care to each patient in accordance with applicable standards of practice and standards of care: local, state, and federal regulations and practice acts; and other regulatory agencies.Financial Pillar:

Graduate of an APTA approved Associates Degree program and shall meet the practice requirements of the appropriate State.Experience, Training, Knowledge:
Work with an adult and geriatric population is necessary, and education/experience with outpatient programs/services and pediatric/adolescent populations are desirable.Certification, Licensure, Bonding:
