Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract A rewarding opportunity awaits physical therapists to support students in a dynamic extended school year (ESY) program near Newport, RI. This contract assignment spans from July 7, 2026, through July 30, 2026, serving a diverse K-12th grade caseload. Make a meaningful impact during the summer while working with a supportive school-based team.
Qualifications and Experience Desired:
Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution Current and valid Rhode Island state license to practice as a Physical Therapist Previous experience in school settings preferred, especially with K-12 populations Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with staff, students, and families Ability to adapt interventions to meet the unique needs of each student
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct physical therapy services to K-12 students as part of their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Assess student needs, design treatment plans, and track progress throughout the ESY period Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to ensure a cohesive therapeutic approach Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive ESY learning environment
