Job Description

A hospital in Cheraw, SC is seeking a Physical Therapist to join its medical-surgical rehabilitation team. This role focuses on providing direct inpatient therapy services aimed at improving mobility, function, and overall recovery for patients in a hospital-based MedSurg setting. Position Overview The Physical Therapist will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver rehabilitation interventions to support recovery following medical or surgical conditions. Care is coordinated with the broader interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective discharge planning and continuity of care. This position requires strong clinical reasoning, adaptability, and the ability to manage a diverse inpatient caseload in a fast-paced hospital environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct inpatient MedSurg physical therapy evaluations and assessments Develop and implement individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans Deliver therapeutic interventions to improve strength, mobility, and functional independence Monitor and document patient progress throughout the course of care Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff Support discharge planning and continuity of care coordination Educate patients on mobility, recovery, and home exercise programs Maintain compliance with clinical protocols and safety standards Adjust treatment plans based on patient response and progress Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program required Active and unrestricted Physical Therapy license in South Carolina required Current CPR certification required Previous inpatient or rehabilitation experience preferred Strong clinical judgment and communication skills required Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holiday benefits Retirement savings program Continuing education and professional development support Stable inpatient hospital-based rehabilitation environment Opportunities for professional growth within acute care therapy services
