Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students' growth and well-being as a Physical Therapist for the upcoming 2026/27 school year. Located in beautiful Charles City, southeast of Richmond, this part-time, onsite opportunity is ideal for a passionate PT eager to make a difference in young lives. This position is designed for someone committed to helping school-aged children achieve their fullest physical potential. You will serve as an essential hands-on resource, replacing a virtual PT to provide more direct, impactful intervention. The exact schedule is being finalized, but your presence will be key during the academic year.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist Previous experience working with school-aged children, ideally in a school setting Expertise in assessing and developing individualized treatment plans for students with diverse needs Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and educators Reliable transportation for onsite attendance
What You'll Be Doing:
Delivering direct PT services to students onsite in alignment with IEPs Assessing student abilities and setting measurable, collaborative goals Documenting interventions, progress, and maintaining compliance with special education guidelines Consulting with teachers, school staff, and families to foster inclusion and promote student independence Providing staff training as needed to ensure effective support for students You'll enjoy the satisfaction of seeing your expertise directly impact students' daily lives and educational experience.
