Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding opportunity to enhance students' lives as a Physical Therapist in an engaging school environment for the 2026/27 academic year! Located near Hopewell, VA, this part-time, onsite contract supports students who need hands-on expertise and a caring approach to physical development. With the transition from a virtual to an onsite service model, your professional presence will directly impact student progress and engagement.
Essential Qualifications:
Valid Physical Therapist license in Virginia Previous experience working in K-12 educational settings or with pediatric populations Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers, staff, and families Ability to design and implement individualized physical therapy programs Experience documenting progress and goals in accordance with IEPs and school protocols Availability to work onsite (no remote/virtual options for this role)
Role Responsibilities:
Assess students' physical therapy needs within school environments Develop and execute treatment plans in alignment with IEP goals Collaborate with special education teams, educators, and caregivers to support student achievement Conduct ongoing progress monitoring and adjust interventions as necessary Provide clear reporting and participate in IEP meetings as needed Educate staff and families on strategies to support students' mobility and accessibility needs This position offers the chance to make a tangible difference for students in a supportive educational setting, housed just a short drive from Richmond.
