SELECTION

The position is filled by the Harrison County Board of Education upon the recommendation of the superintendent.

SALARY AND

Salary based on teacher's salary schedule plus approved supplement.

EMPLOYMENT TERM

Ten months, 200 days

FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

1. Adhere to professional, ethical and legal standards of practice. 2. Develop, implement and coordinate the physical therapy program including philosophy, vision, departmental procedures and goals. 3. Supervise physical therapy assistant(s). 4. Evaluate students using appropriate tests, observation and supplementary information from other agencies and records. 5. Engage students in purposeful activities related to intervention goals and objectives. 6. Maintain appropriate physical therapy student file with data regarding treatment, evaluation(s), IEPs and performance. 7. Serve as a resource to parents, school staff, and administration on disabling conditions and their effects of education. 8. Communicate and consult with parents, school staff, physicians, community based therapists, other professionals and community agencies. 9. Plan for transition from school to community preparing students to function independently when objectives are achieved. 10. Participate with improving school accessibility, emergency evacuation, and environmental modification. 11. Procure, maintain and inventory equipment, materials and supplies. 12. Become a Medicaid provider and complete the required forms and paperwork to bill Medicaid for eligible evaluations and therapy sessions. 13. Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the Supervisor of Pupil Services or the Superintendent may from time to time assign
