Physical Therapist Assistant

Physical Therapy Assistant Alabama Medical Group, P.C. is looking for a Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team in Mobile, AL. This position is responsible for assisting in the care of patients through physical therapy procedures and techniques while working under the direction of a physical therapist.

Essential Functions:

Assists PTs in providing services that help improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or from diseases. Helps PT's fulfill patient treatment plan and assistant with procedures. Assists with patient care by providing personal care that promotes patient comfort, safety, and quality of life. Adheres to Alabama Medical Group, P.C. standards of infection control and employee safety. Keeps gym and therapy areas organized, well stocked, and sanitized. performs clerical tasks as needed Performs other duties as assigned. Abilities and Skills Skill in appropriate evaluation and treatment of patients including hands-on procedures Ability to effectively communicate interpersonally to educate patients about their physical therapy treatments. Ability to analyze date and modify treatment plans as appropriate. Demonstrate and help patients use assistive and adaptive devices. Operate physical therapy equipment. Physical Requirements Often must stoop, kneel, crouch, lift and stand for long periods. Frequently move heavy equipment, lift patients or help them turn, stand or walk. Occasionally must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds. Job Requirements Successful completion of physical therapist assistant program from an accredited school. Minimum of one year experience preferred. Licensure by the Alabama Board of Physical Therapy required.
