Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Staff Physical Therapy Assistant, where your expertise will directly enhance patient recovery and well-being. In this vital role, you will collaborate closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver high-quality rehabilitative care across diverse settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health environments, and specialized pediatrics and geriatrics programs. Duties Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing comprehensive care plans for patients of all ages, including pediatrics and geriatrics. Prepare treatment areas and equipment for therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. Perform therapeutic procedures such as trigger point therapy, manual therapy techniques, and other modalities under supervision. Monitor patient responses during therapy sessions, providing feedback to the therapist to optimize treatment effectiveness. Educate patients on exercises, injury prevention strategies, and post-discharge care plans to promote ongoing recovery at home or in outpatient settings. Document patient progress accurately in medical records, noting responses to treatments and any changes observed. Support discharge planning by coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions from inpatient or acute care settings to outpatient or home health services. Requirements Proven experience working as a Physical Therapy Assistant or in a similar healthcare support role within inpatient or outpatient environments. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and physiotherapy techniques relevant to orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care. Skilled in delivering specialized therapies such as trigger point therapy and other manual techniques. Familiarity with care plans development and implementation for diverse patient populations across clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health visits, and outpatient services. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in fast-paced healthcare settings.
