Starting at $55/hour Canyon Springs Post Acute is seeking a dedicated and professional Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team on a PRN basis. General Purpose The Staff Physical Therapist Assistant works under the direction of the Staff Physical Therapist to provide resident-related activities and direct resident care, ensuring optimal functional outcomes for our residents.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Direct Care:

Treat residents as directed by the Physical Therapist and educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment goals, home exercise programs, and fall prevention strategies.

Documentation:

Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in accordance with facility, governmental, and third-party payer requirements.

Collaboration:

Communicate routinely with the supervising PT to update physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary team on resident progress and discharge planning.

Safety & Compliance:

Maintain a safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols. (California PTAs must remain in accordance with California Laws and Regulations related to Physical Rehabilitation Manual Article 4 § 1398.44).

Equipment Coordination:

Recommend and facilitate the ordering of durable medical equipment (e.g., walkers, canes, splints) to promote resident independence.

Training:

Assist the nursing department with training Restorative Aides and provide in-service training programs for facility staff as needed.

Quality Improvement:

Contribute to quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications Education:

Associate Degree from an accredited PTA program.

Licensure:

Must hold a valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing with the State Board.

Certifications:
