We are seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team and help make a difference in our residents' lives. As the Physical Therapist Assistant, you will be responsible for treating residents with physical impairments and functional limitations to help them achieve their highest level of mobility and independence.
REPORTING
The Physical Therapist Assistant reports to the Director of Rehabilitation.
JOB DUTIES
Fundamental understanding of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy, and physiology. Basic knowledge of operating, maintaining, and repairing physical therapy machines. Administers treatment and rehabilitation services to patients with injuries or disabilities. Conducts exercises with residents. Follows treatment instructions given by the supervising Physical Therapist. Adheres to physical medicine practice standards. Evaluates treatment effects, discusses observations with staff and Physical Therapist. Monitors and documents resident treatment and responses. Contributes to creating a teaching plan based on identified learning needs, assesses teaching effectiveness, involves family when necessary, and informs staff and Physical Therapist of outcomes.
REQUIREMENTS
CPR Certification is mandatory. Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant is a must. Preferably 1-2 years of experience in long-term care. Good physical and mental health are required. Capable of meeting physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 40 pounds unassisted. Proficient in following oral and written instructions. Possess training, knowledge, and experience for general supervision of responsibilities.
