Job Description

Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Outpatient OrthopedicsPosition Summary This role supports patients in improving mobility, function, and overall quality of life through guided exercise, skilled hands-on intervention, and patient education.
The Physical Therapist Assistant works under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients progress through individualized treatment plans aimed at restoring function, reducing pain, and preventing disability. Key Responsibilities Carry out and document daily patient treatment sessions and progress notes Implement established plans of care in collaboration with the supervising Physical Therapist Adjust interventions as appropriate within scope of practice and clinical guidelines Engage patients and caregivers in treatment participation based on their ability and goals Educate patients and families regarding functional limitations, recovery strategies, and home programs Assist with discharge planning and transition of patients out of therapy services Provide guidance on adaptive equipment use and community or support resources Maintain accurate clinical documentation and tracking of patient progress Clinical Expectations This position requires strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to function independently within scope of practice. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient environment and is able to respond appropriately to changing patient needs. Qualifications Required:
Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Colorado Graduation from an accredited PTA program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Current BLS certification
Preferred:
1+ year of clinical experience in an outpatient or orthopedic setting (new graduates will be considered) Work Environment Outpatient clinical setting with frequent movement and hands-on patient care Regular use of electronic and paper documentation systems Fast-paced workflow requiring organization and adaptability Clinic hours generally Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
