In this energetic role, you will collaborate closely with a licensed physical therapist to implement personalized treatment plans, assist in patient recovery, and promote mobility and independence. Your expertise in physical therapy manual techniques and anatomy will help transform patients' lives in our private practice and possibly home care settings. We are committed to fostering a supportive atmosphere that values your skills and dedication. Responsibilities Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs. Provide hands-on therapy interventions, including trigger point therapy and other manual techniques to alleviate pain and improve function. Monitor patient progress, document responses to treatments, and communicate updates to the healthcare team. Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition to home or other care settings through education and exercise instruction. Engage with patients across various populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and those recovering from acute or inpatient care episodes. Maintain detailed records of treatments administered, patient responses, and clinical observations following medical terminology standards. Ensure a safe environment during therapy sessions by adhering to all safety protocols and facility policies. Qualifications New graduates welcome! Candidates must be fluent in English; Spanish fluency is preferred. Current certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with valid licensure or registration as required by state law. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practice. Hands-on experience with manual therapy for an orthopedic/geriatric practice Familiarity with care planning processes for diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and those in acute care or outpatient environments. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to support patient-centered outcomes. Excellent communication skills to educate patients on exercises, discharge instructions, and injury prevention strategies.
