Job Description

Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute is looking for someone to work part-time as an PTA/Physical Therapist Assistant at the Nassau Rehab. The PTA provides physical therapy services to patients referred to the center under the supervision of the physical therapist.
Office Location:
Nassau Rehab, 1348 18th Street, Suite 320a, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034 Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide physical therapy services to patients as directed by the patient care plan and supervised by the physical therapist. Ensure completion of all required documentation of patient care activities. Adhere to the established policies and procedures of the CENTER. Fulfill all duties assigned by either the physical therapist or the Site Coordinator. Report to the Site Coordinator any injuries or adverse reactions during or after treatment. Participate in patient review conferences and staffing. Assist the Site Coordinator as follows, but not limited to: Utilization Review, Quality Assurance, Program Evaluation, Infection Control, and Safety Committee activities. May directly supervise assigned tasks of volunteers and PTA students. It is understood that the PTA makes no judgments or changes in student s role in CENTER. This responsibility is approved by the Administrator and Site Coordinator. Participate in CENTER in-service activities. Position Requirements Must be duly licensed under applicable State laws as a physical therapy assistant. Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program. Must have one or more years of clinical experience. Effective communication skills and ability to interact appropriately with patients and staff. Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Computer proficient. Working Conditions Fast paced orthopaedic Rehabilitation Center. Physical Demands Requires full range of body motion including handling of patients, manual and finger dexterity, and hand-eye coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Ability to lift 20-25 pounds regularly, and up to 40-50 pounds occasionally. Requires corrected vision, hearing, and speech within normal ranges.
