Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality care to patients recovering from injuries or surgeries. You will assist in implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, and ensuring a supportive environment that promotes healing and rehabilitation. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, with experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings as well as home care. Responsibilities Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients. Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities as directed by the supervising physical therapist. Monitor patient progress and report changes or concerns to the physical therapist. Provide education to patients and their families regarding care plans and discharge planning. Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress in compliance with clinic policies. Collaborate with healthcare team members; skilled nursing, occupational therapist and office staff to ensure comprehensive patient care. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Requirements Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assisting or related field from an accredited program. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential. Experience in homecare is preferred. Familiarity with discharge planning processes and care plan development. Proficiency in orthopedics therapy techniques is a plus. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment. Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant is required. Commitment to providing compassionate patient care and promoting rehabilitation goals.
