Overview QuarterLine (QL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physical Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals providing high-quality rehabilitative care to our nation's service members and their families at Moody Air Force Base near Valdosta, Georgia.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, no more than 40 hours per week, excluding holidays or closures, (flex schedule between 0700-1800), with a non-billable lunch hour. No telework available at this time. Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities Carry out a program of corrective exercise and treatment for assigned patients, as directed by the physical therapist. Under supervision, administer such treatment as exercise, gait training, massage, whirlpool, hot packs, diathermy, ultrasound, paraffin, ice packs and traction. Instruct patients on segments of the program including proper use of wheelchairs, crutches, braces, and prosthetic appliances and devices. Administer traction to relieve neck and back pain, using intermittent and static traction equipment. Instruct, motivate, and assist patients to learn and improve functional activities. Observe patients during treatments and compile and evaluate data on patients' responses to treatments and progress and report orally or in writing to the physical therapist. Fit patients for, adjust, and train patients in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs. Confer with members of the physical therapy staff and other health team members, individually and in conference, to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs. Coordinate with other departments and the clinic staff to provide complete care to patients.
Minimum Requirements Degree:
Associate degree.
Education:
Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
Experience:
One (1) year of experience within the last two years as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
License:
Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a physical therapy assistant or possess current certification as a physical therapy assistant/technician as determined by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
Professional Certification:
Must have American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) OR American Red Cross (ARC) CPR/BLS Heart Saver prior to starting employment. Desired Qualifications The ideal candidate should be a skilled and motivated Physical Therapy Assistant with a strong foundation in therapeutic techniques and a passion for helping others recover and regain function. They are experienced in administering a wide range of treatments under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist and thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. They bring professionalism, strong communication skills, and a patient-centered approach to care. While experience with or exposure to military or high-performance populations is a plus, it is not required.
