PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT

POSITION SUMMARY

Director of Physical Therapy Summary:

Employee will be responsible for assisting resident Physical Therapists. Primary duties include completing physical therapy treatments such as therapeutic exercises, modalities, gait training, patient/family education, clerical work, and supervisory work. Employee normally performs the duty assignments after receiving general instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results. The assignment is reviewed upon completion.

Work Schedule:

May work 8 to 10-hour days between the hours of 7:30 am to 6 pm. Weekend and holiday coverage is also expected on a rotational basis. Must be able to work non-standard hours, including evenings.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education College degree as applicable for Physical Therapy Assistant Experience One to two years related experience Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility. Certificates & Licenses Must have current Indiana PTA license or eligible. Valid driver's license required. Certified in BLS. Other Requirements One year PTA experience preferred. Twenty-two (22) hours of continuing education required each licensure renewal period. This position requires frequent standing, walking, use of hands and fingers, crawling, kneeling, squatting, bending, lifting and carrying 0-50 lbs and pushing and pulling 0-40 lbs.
