Full Job Description SUMMARY:
The Physical Therapist is responsible for the plan of treatment and education of his/her patients. Based on goals established in the initial evaluation by a Physical Therapist, the PTA will use skill in carrying out an individual treatment plan for the restoration of patient function. The Physical Therapist Assistant will use any skills and/or equipment available in treating patients. The Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for appropriate patient treatment and education under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapist Assistant is also responsible for the maintenance of an accurate medical record relative to a patient's treatment. This position is W17 on the Lexington Clinic wage scale.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Formal training which will be indicated graduation from a physical therapist assistant associate degree program accredited by CAPTE; current State licensure or eligibility; effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with members of the medical team, patients and families. Ability to work closely with all levels of clinical staff, management and administration
PHYSICAL GUIDELINES
Physical guidelines include ability to kneel, stand/walk for up to eight hours/day, bend, stoop, twist, operate a keyboard, verbal and written communication ability to adequately communicate with therapists, referring providers and patients, and ability to adequately demonstrate therapeutic exercise.
