We are seeking a PTA that is positive, dependable, punctual, team-oriented, and motivated to be on the cutting edge of patient care. Job Summary The physical therapist assistant will administer treatments to the disabled or injured diseased pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient per the medical direction of the physical therapist. The staff physical therapist assistant will perform some administrative duties inherent to the position. The staff physical therapist assistant will assist in clerical duties of the department and perform other duties as department needs require. The staff physical therapist assistant will restore the patient's function, alleviate pain, and prevent disabilities by planning goals and strategies with supervising physical therapists. The staff physical therapist assistant will report to the supervising physical therapist or clinical director at Physical Therapy Works LLC. Duties Contributes to physical therapist's effectiveness by identifying patient care issues; providing information and commentary; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physical therapy directives. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities; and in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses. Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information; promoting wellness and health maintenance. Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. Maintains production objectives by noting current treatment trends; monitoring actual physical therapy services rendered to production objectives. Maintains legal and accreditation compliance by adhering to policy positions concerning federal, state, and local regulations. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Enhances physical therapy reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited program or certificate program of physical therapy approved by the American Physical Therapy Association, current and valid licensure in the state of Louisiana, compliance with all continuing educational requirements as specified by the Louisiana State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, Physiological Knowledge, Health Promotion and Maintenance, Creating a Safe, Effective Environment, Motivating Others, Quality Focus, Bedside Manner, Clinical Skills, Persistence, Energy Level, Teamwork, Mental, Pain Management. Physiological Knowledge, Organization, Patient Services, Health Care Administration, Documentation Skills, Listening, Verbal Communication.
