Overview:

A school-based Physical Therapist Assistant is needed for a 6-month contract assignment supporting students ages 3-22 with diverse physical and developmental needs. The school has a total of 36 students, most requiring physical therapy services. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

Schedule:

Days, Monday-Friday 35 hours per week 6-month contract (option to go temp-perm)

Responsibilities:

Implement individualized physical therapy goals as outlined in students' IEPs Provide direct and consultative PT services in classroom, therapy, and community settings Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers Assist with adaptive equipment, positioning tools, and mobility aids Monitor and document student progress; report updates to supervising PT Participate in IEP meetings as needed Provide training to staff on safe handling and mobility techniques Maintain accurate documentation per state and federal guidelines

Qualifications:

Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (state requirements apply) Experience with pediatric or school-based populations preferred Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to support students with a wide range of physical and developmental needs This is an excellent opportunity for a PTA who is passionate about helping students access their educational environment and achieve greater mobility and independence. Minimum Requirements:

Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of practice One (1) year of prior professional Physical Therapy Assistant experience preferred.
