Carroll Park Healthcare is seeking a motivated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled rehabilitation team. The PTA will work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to assist residents in achieving their highest level of functional independence, mobility, and physical well-being. We have FT, PT, and PRN positions available. Our ideal candidate is a dedicated and patient-centered professional who enjoys working with the geriatric population and thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing individualized care plans and treatment programs. Provide therapeutic exercises, ambulation, balance training, and other physical therapy interventions as prescribed. Observe, document, and report residents' progress, responses, or changes in condition to the Physical Therapist. Educate residents and families on exercises, mobility techniques, and safety practices to promote independence. Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards. Ensure proper use and maintenance of therapy equipment and supplies. Promote resident engagement and a positive therapeutic experience. Work collaboratively with nursing, occupational therapy, and restorative teams to ensure continuity of care. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program . Current, valid Maryland PTA license or eligibility for licensure. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Compassionate and professional demeanor. Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and assist with resident transfers. Excellent time management and attention to detail.
Preferred:
Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
