About The Role Responsible for assisting the physical therapist in the assigned area of responsibility to implement treatment programs for students. Performs direct treatment for students under the direction if a licensed physical therapist in accordance with the guidelines prescribed by a physician. Assists the physical therapist with student evaluations and the development of progress reports related to prescribed physical therapy treatment. Performs direct physical therapy treatment on students per the direction and under the procedural guidance of the physical therapist. Assists the physical therapist in the accurate maintenance of records of physical therapy treatment procedures as prescribed for each student. About You High school diploma/equivalent and graduate of an approved program for physical therapist assistants. Recommended by a college or university offering an appropriate training program as approved by the state board of education. Two years of recent and relevant experience working with special education students preferred. Ability to relate and communicate with students, parents, and staff. Evidence of good oral and written communications skills. Ability to function as a team member in the physical therapy/education setting.
