Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant
JOB DESCRIPTION LINK
As a Physical Therapist Assistant with Special School District (SSD), you will support students in developing the physical skills needed to participate more fully in their educational environment. Working under the supervision of a physical therapist, you will implement individualized therapy programs, support student progress, and help students build mobility, independence, and access to daily school activities. Through collaboration with therapists, educators, and families, you will play an important role in helping students achieve their goals while contributing to safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments.
Physical therapy assistants work during school hours. They are assigned to students, not locations, and regular travel is required between buildings and districts within St. Louis County. This position is primarily assigned to Ackerman School, 1550 Derhake Rd, Florissant, MO, but will serve some students in neighboring districts.
Education and Experience Associate's degree from an accredited program in certified physical therapy assistants (PTA) required
Experience as a PTA in school-based programming or pediatrics preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license required; must remain in active status
Salary $30-$43/hour based on education and experience
Calendar
10-month school year (August to June), exact dates dependent on assigned location(s)
