Each patient of ours is hurting and in pain, being kind and friendly towards them, regardless of their attitude is very important. Being early to open up the clinic and have everything set up for the day. Cleaning is a daily job. Will be in close contact with patients, setting them up and off of therapy. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and manage appointment scheduling using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Record) Conduct insurance verification and process medical billing and collections accurately utilizing systems like Athenahealth or Dentrix. Assist clinicians with documentation review, CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9/ICD coding, and care plan documentation to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and updating electronic health records efficiently. Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, schedule appointments, and respond promptly to patient inquiries. Maintain organized medical records, perform filing tasks, and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards. Support clinic operations by performing clerical tasks such as data entry, typing reports, and managing office supplies using Microsoft Office tools. Verify insurance benefits for Medicare and other payers, ensuring accurate billing and coding processes are followed. Assist with front desk duties including patient check-in/out, appointment reminders, and managing patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency. Experience Prior clinic or medical office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with dental or chiropractic clinics is a plus. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and healthcare documentation review is essential. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks or Eaglesoft enhances your candidacy. Demonstrated ability in medical billing and collections processes including insurance verification and Medicare claims processing. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with dental management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is advantageous. Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Exceptional customer service skills combined with strong organizational abilities ensure smooth office operations and positive patient interactions. Previous office management or administrative support experience in a healthcare setting will help you excel in this role.
