  • Part-time Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team.
The ideal candidate will assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans that promote the recovery and rehabilitation of patients. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, effective communication skills, and a solid understanding of orthopedic physical therapy practices. Our clinic specializes in a whole body approach; improving alignment and muscular balance in order to maximize function. We utilize hands-on techniques as well as specialized exercises to address a variety of orthopedic dysfunctions. Part of becoming a team member at Hands On Physical Therapy is a willingness to learn some of these techniques, and we are very willing to teach them. A license to practice as a physical therapist assistant in New Mexico is a requirement. Currently, this is a half-time (20 per week) position. Responsibilities Assist physical therapists in providing care to patients through therapeutic exercises and modalities. Implement individualized care plans as directed by the supervising physical therapist. Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the therapist. Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, exercises, and home care strategies. Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes as needed. Skills Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to effectively assist in patient treatment. Experience in patient care with a focus on orthopedics. Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual patient needs. Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
