Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Location:
Las Vegas, NV Join Our Team We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and motivated Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide exceptional patient care throughout the Las Vegas area. In this role, you will work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver individualized therapy services that help patients improve mobility, regain independence, and achieve their functional goals in the comfort of their own homes. Responsibilities Provide physical therapy treatments and interventions as outlined in the plan of care established by the supervising Physical Therapist. Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, transfer training, and mobility programs. Monitor patient progress and report changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist. Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety techniques, fall prevention, and proper body mechanics. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. Support patients in achieving maximum functional independence and quality of life. Adhere to all federal, state, agency, and professional standards, including APTA guidelines and state licensing requirements. Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and provide patient-centered care that respects individual needs and preferences. Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities. Qualifications Required Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current and unrestricted Nevada Physical Therapist Assistant license. Current CPR/BLS certification. Minimum of one year of PTA experience, preferably in home health, outpatient, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation settings. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance. Ability to travel throughout assigned service areas. Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Preferred Previous home health experience. Knowledge of Medicare documentation and home health regulations. Experience working independently and managing a patient caseload. Physical Requirements Ability to assist patients with transfers, ambulation, and therapeutic activities. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift as necessary to provide patient care. Ability to travel between patient homes throughout the service area.
