Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient rehabilitation team. The PTA will work under the direction and supervision of licensed Physical Therapists to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. This role involves implementing individualized treatment plans, assisting patients in reaching their functional goals, and contributing to a positive clinic environment. Responsibilities Deliver physical therapy interventions as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist, including therapeutic exercise, functional training, modalities, and manual techniques. Instruct, motivate, and assist patients with exercises, activities, and use of equipment to improve strength, mobility, endurance, and function. Monitor patient progress, provide feedback to the supervising Physical Therapist, and document patient care in accordance with regulatory and clinic standards. Ensure patient safety by demonstrating proper body mechanics and maintaining a clean and organized treatment area. Educate patients and families on exercise programs, lifestyle modifications, and strategies to promote recovery and prevent injury. Support clinic operations by assisting with scheduling, patient flow, equipment maintenance, and other tasks as needed. Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide seamless, compassionate, and effective care. Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising physical therapist.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current NYS state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Prior outpatient or orthopedic experience preferred, but not required.
